The Boardman Performance Centre in Evesham was more than just a facility—it was a state-of-the-art hub for cycling innovation, engineering, and performance testing.

Designed to cater to professional cyclists and serious enthusiasts alike, it was the first of its kind in the UK, combining a wind tunnel, bike fitting studio, physiology lab, and training zones under one roof.

As a professional photographer based in Birmingham, I had the opportunity to document this visually striking and technologically advanced location before it closed its doors in 2020.

The Centre, backed by Olympic gold medallist Chris Boardman and operated under Halfords, stood as a testament to British cycling excellence.

While it's unfortunate that this iconic location has now been shuttered as part of Halfords’ restructuring strategy, I’m grateful to have captured its atmosphere, design, and detail through my lens. .

The images I took now serve as a visual archive of a place that meant so much to the UK cycling community

Though the physical space may be gone, the legacy of the Boardman Performance Centre lives on—at least in part—through the photographs I’m proud to have created.
